| Original Watercolour Painting by Sybil Mullen Glover. Entitled Off To The Fishing Grounds. This painting was exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London in 1988. Sybil Mullen Glover was born in Cheshire, in her later life she was based in Plymouth, Devon. She was a member of The Royal Society Of Marine Artists. She exhibited in the United States, Sweden and at the Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Academy, New English Art Club, Royal Institute of Oil Painters. She made history when elected the first female council member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours. Her work is in several galleries and museums. During her career she shared shows with Sir Hugh Casson and Francis Russell Flint. She died in 1995 and has since had a lifeboat named after her. Signed to the bottom right. The picture 27 1/2" by 19 1/2" including the mount and frame and 18 1/2" by 10" excluding the mount and frame. In excellent condition. |
