Large David Sharp Rye Pottery Owl Figure.

In 1947 Sharp became Rye Pottery's first apprentice. He worked at the pottery for around six years. Sharp sought new challenges and in 1956 left to form Rye Art Pottery, which was later to become Cinque Port Pottery. Sharp had many further ventures including work with Michael Doulton and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution amongst others. Sadly David Sharp passed away in 1993.

A large piece at approximately 11 1/2" in height.

In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration, there is some gentle crazing commensurate with the nature of the piece.

A superb piece of British studio pottery.
