| Exquisite Original Still Life Oil Painting by James Noble. James Noble (1919-1989) was a still life artist who was inspired by the 17th century Dutch masters. He studied in London under the well known Scottish artist Iain MacNab. From 1950, James Noble exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Paris Salon and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. In 1957, he had his first solo exhibition in Bond Street. This was so successful that many other exhibitions followed at Frost & Reed, Mandell's and Stacy-Marks. James Noble lived in Middlesex, then London and finally settled in Norwich. He is listed in The Dictionary of Flower Painters. The painting depicts roses within a glass vase, the detail is superb. Approximately 13 1/4" by 11 1/4" including the frame, the actual painting is approximately 9 1/2" by 7 1/2". In excellent condition. A fabulous painting by a very sought after artist.
