| Original Watercolour Painting by James Lawson Stewart. Dating to around the late 1800's. James Lawson Stewart trained as an architect however he later become well known as a watercolour painter. His paintings show clear signs of his background in architecture with strong attention to detail. Stewart travelled throughout the United Kingdown painting village scenes and buildings. He exhibited at the Walker Gallery, Liverpool, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, The Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Society of Painters in Oils and Suffolk Street Gallery. The painting features The River Bure in Suffolk. Signed with monogram. Approximately 13" by 11" including the frame and mount. The painting is in excellent condition, there are some loose particles between the glass and the mount, the frame has some general wear. |
