| Very nice Original Watercolour Painting by Brian C Lancaster. Entitled 'Reflections' the picture illustrates in muted colours a windmill with its structure reflecting in the water, the sailing boats also reflect in the water. The threatening sky contrasts with the still mirror like surface of the water. Brian Lancaster was born in 1931 and raised in Lancashire. As a result industrial subjects were a big influence on his painting career. Lancaster was elected as a member of the Bristol Savages group in 1969. He exhibited his paintings widely and in 1990 he was accepted as a member of the Guild of Railway Artists. In 1998 he was elected a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists and in the same year he was entered into Who's Who in Art. He passed away in 2005. The painting is approximately 13 1/2" by 10" excluding the frame and mount and 19 1/2" by 16" including the frame. The painting is in excellent condition. UK postage only. |
